BOOK DESCRIPTION

Last few years have seen rapid acceptance of High-Definition
Television (HDTV) technology around the world. This
technology has been hugely successful in delivering more
realistic TV experience at home and accurate imaging for
professional applications. Adoption of HD continues to grow
as consumers demand enhanced features, greater bandwidth,
greater quality of content and interactivity.

Key features that drive the development of future multimedia
systems are content quality and interactivity. Therefore,
new consumer technologies will be based on super-resolution
systems, multi-view and layered coding. It is widely
accepted that in future the video content will be of even
higher resolution, with higher dynamic colour range and
flexibly encoded providing more realistic experience. In
this book the technologies to enable such content
functionalities will be presented, together with high
quality survey articles on applications in specific domains.

TOPICS

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
---> End to End Architectures for High Quality of
Visual Experience
---> 3D Visual Experience
---> Super Resolution
---> Sprite Generation
---> Higher Frame Rate Videos
---> High Dynamic Range Video
---> Innovative Multiview Video Technologies
---> Ultra High Definition Content Generation

ABOUT THIS SERIES

The series "Signals and Communications Technology" is
devoted to fundamentals and applications of modern methods
of signal processing and cutting-edge communication
technologies. The main topics are information and signal
theory, acoustical signal processing, image processing and
multimedia systems, mobile and wireless communications, and
computer and communication networks. Volumes in the series
address researchers in academia and industrial R&D
departments. The series is application-oriented. The level
of presentation of each individual volume, however, depends
on the subject and can range from practical to scientific.
