Hey, I'm new to the newsgroup :)

I'm fixing to start college and I really need to know the difference between
Software Engineering and Computer Science. Which is better for getting a job
right out of college and which is easier, I think I want the more
challenging.

What do you mean?
Software Engineering is one aspect of computer science. There is no
"difference", the former is part of the latter. For example, we have
several CS departments at our university which work and/or do research
in the fields of software engineering.

To answer your second question:
With software becoming more complex and therefore also more prone to
errors, the design phase of a software project becomes more and more
significance and also attention. Decent Software Engineering skills are
therefore extremely desirable, especially in large scaled industry projects.
