I WANT TO COMPRESS A 600MB FILM(MPEG2 OR MPEG1)TO 10MB OR REDUSE TIME OF FILM
First off, as nice as it may be to be able to reduce a movie of such
size to something that small...it won't really happen. Reducing the
size of one individual file bu using any compression program will only
reduce the size slightly. Basically compression programs are designed
for reducing the size of many file, say an portfolio, that you would
like as one zipped file.
The only way I see on reducing the size of such a movie would be to
reduce the lenght of the film. Quicktime 5.1 I think is what I have
is very good at editing all kinds of music and video files. You would
have to import the mpeg file to quicktime then work with the file as a
*.mov. Then just remember when saving the final work make sure you
save it as a self contained file. Otherwise you get pieces of the
file and it won't play.
