I'm trying to find rankings and other comparitive data for geography
programs in North America, both Doctoral and Masters. I'd like to be
able to compare Victoria, Clark, Rutgers, and McGill on a
point-by-point basis. Among other things, I'd like to know the tuition,
the years to degree, and the completion rate. Is this info available on
the Internet?

I hope I am not sounding overly cynical, but if you are hoping to enter
a doctoral program, one would hope that you would develop a rating
system for yourself based on your needs and desires and not someone
elses. That would be the first step in obtaining a graduate education.

Given that, I am not sure that a general comparision would be very
helpful without lots of other information. First off, what is your
nationality, visa status, and language ability. You have listed two
countries and one city with a large French-speaking population. For
example, are you in, or can you enter, either of the countries? If you
are in the US, are you a resident of New Jersey?

What area do you want to study? All schools have their major strengths
and weaknesses and they tend to be by sub-discipline. A school good in
GIS might not be as good in economic geography, etc.

Finally, if you have cut the field down to 4 school already, you should
just call them and ask for the dept. chairs. You won't get him/her,
but you'll get his/her assistant and he/she will put you through to
someone who can answer your questions.

Go to a library and check the Princeton Review. Whatever you do, don't
consider the University of Iowa -- The Geog Dept. is falling apart.
