Hi,

My 9 year old wants to learn computer propgramming, particularly
making own games. Does any body know of good books/software, oriented
towards kids, for learning a programming langauge .

Yes, Logo is a great place to start.

I remember the good old days when I was at school programming logo.

Logo would be a great start. The website is
http://www.softronix.com/logo.html. There is a link for a book I have
used with my elementary students that you can download and use. It is
called The Great Logo Adventure : Electronic copy of the actual book
on learning Logo by Jim Muller (Graciously donated by Jim)3.5 MB.
